BIA response to UK trade with the US - Call for Evidence
The BIA has submitted its response to the Business and Trade Committee’s call for evidence on the UK trade with the US.
The inquiry intends to collect evidence on the evidence on what has been delivered regarding UK and US trade, and the priorities for future UK-US collaboration.
BIA reiterated its support for the agreement, which reinforces the UK’s position as a globally competitive life sciences hub and protects the sector from damaging pharmaceutical tariffs that would particularly impact innovative UK manufacturing businesses and SMEs.
We also commented on how the upcoming Voluntary Pricing, Access and Growth (VPAG) scheme review presents an opportunity to align policy in such a way that supports innovation and investment across the ecosystem. It is particularly important that this review includes a focus on supporting UK companies to scale, invest and stay in the UK, as well as attracting large global companies to invest here.
